Tottenham Hotspur star center back Micky van de Ven has heard a lot of discussion around his name this year, and at one point when he was playing at his worst under Thomas Frank, who deflated just about everyone at the club regardless of their actual quality, there were Spurs fans talking about him the way they are talking about captain Cristian Romero now: fed up and ready for the young man to leave.

But when Roberto De Zerbi took over, he got several key players at Tottenham to get back to their best, and Van de Ven was a man reborn, going back to performing like one of the top center backs in the Premier League.

De Zerbi has made it clear that Van de Ven is important to him and not for sale, and after seeming ho hum on his future and visibly frustrated towards the fans after bad losses, VDV started playing the game with a lot more joy under De Zerbi and seemed to express a clear preference towards being all in for Tottenham.

Micky van de Ven is not available

Although there are still transfer rumors linking Micky van de Ven away from Tottenham Hotspur and towards giants Barcelona and Liverpool this summer, Fabrizio Romano is maintaining on his YouTube channel that these transfer links are 100 percent "fake news" and that Van de Ven is not going anywhere at all this summer.

Tottenham have brought in Marcos Senesi and Jan Paul van Hecke at center back, but Van de Ven is going nowhere. Spurs already made the choice to sell Luka Vuskovic to Brighton for more than 50 million pounds, and Cristian Romero is the next up to sell - not the younger Van de Ven.

Barcelona are interested in Romero and will likely sign a top center back like Cuti if they lose one of their key defenders, as Fabrizio also relayed in the same video, but they can rest their dreams of Van de Ven because he is not going anywhere.

For Tottenham fans, Vande Ven staying comes as no surprise. Spurs fans are loving VDV again after seeing his effort and intensity under Roberto De Zerbi during the heat of the relegation battle, and the absolute last thing the Lilywhites would want is to sell Van de Ven to Liverpool and watch the Dutchman become the heir to his countryman Virgil van Dijk for not only the Netherlands but a Premier League Big Six rival as well.
