Tottenham Hotspur have made a handful of big signings this summer transfer window. They spent 185 million pounds on Sandro Tonali and Mateus Fernandes together to overhaul the midfield after they had already brought in Andy Robertson at left back and then both Marcos Senesi and Jan Paul van Hecke at center back, knowing Cristian Romero will be going this summer, too.

But before Romero, there was a player Tottenham fans were begging to leave the club in Radu Dragusin. His agent has been angling for a transfer out of Tottenham for playing time for months, and Spurs only did not sell him in the winter window with interest from Serie A because of a lack of depth.

Dragusin clearly does not meet the quality standards of a Premier League Big Six club, and he is on a long list of failed Fabio Paratici transfers that have aged very, very poorly. New Tottenham manager Roberto De Zerbi has no fit for Dragusin either, given how atrocious he is on the ball.

Radu Dragusin is gone

So Spurs fans were hoping for someone to come in and take Dragusin off their hands, offering solution to free salary and a roster spot. And lo and behold, the same executive who, honestly thankfully, bolted in the winter and signed Manor Solomon on loan is now doing the same with Dragusin.

According to Fabrizio Romano, Paratici's Fiorentina have agreed to sign Radu Dragusin on loan from Tottenham Hotspur. An agreement between Tottenham Hotspur and the Viola is in place for a loan with an obligation to buy, and Fab says that the final total cost of the deal is going to be 16.5 million euros. A deal is verbally sealed, Dragusin has given his yes, and Tottenham have finally accepted the offer that was already there from Paratici and the Serie A side in winter.

Dragusin was a very good player in the Italian league, and like another failed Paratici signing, Guglielmo Vicario ingoal, he may simply fit Serie A a lot better than the Premier League. He was not able to meet the level of Juventus as a prospect, but he could shut down shop at Genoa and may be an asset for an awful Fiorentina team that was even lower quality than Tottenham in the 2026/27 season.

Tottenham will be happy they can get Dragusin off their books and eventually have a permanent solution for the player, getting some money back that they can use on a better player, hopefully putting it towards a new striker.
