While Tottenham have more immediate concerns than the summer transfer window, the club are working behind the scenes to ensure supporters are appeased ahead of the 2026/27 campaign.
Spurs are locked in a relegation battle, having failed to win a single Premier League game this calendar year. An myriad of issues have combined to create the current mess; one that firefighter Igor Tudor has been tasked with getting us out of.
However, Tudor's interim spell has started with back-to-back defeats, leaving the Lilywhites just four points clear of the drop.
It's been a chastening campaign, no matter how the rest of it plays out, with a drastic overhaul in personnel needed this summer, with a fresh face in the dugout. The squad isn't deep enough across the board, with the make-up of our midfield a particular issue. It's an area that must be prioritised at the next available opportunity, and it would seem that Tottenham are reignited their interest in an old Fabio Paratici flame.
Tottenham 'genuinely interested' in Fiorentina's Nicolò Fagioli

The links to Juventus midfielder Nicolò Fagioli were only tenuous in 2024 and 2025, with outlets potentially capitalising on Paratici's influence in N17. The former sporting director often turned to Serie A in the transfer market, revisiting his old stomping ground to help Spurs land Dejan Kulusevski and Rodrigo Bentancur in January 2022.
Paratici has since departed the club, joining Fiorentina at the end of a potentially fatal winter window, and looked on from Florence as Spurs appointed his recommendation, Tudor, to succeed Frank.
If Marco Conterio's report is to be believed, Spurs are now digging through the Paratici archives to improve their midfield. We're in desperate need of a passer who can connect defense with attack, but this link unfortunately doesn't scratch that itch.
Fagioli is no metronome, rather a tidy player in tight spaces who can operate as a versatile playmaker. He emerged at Juventus but has spent the past year or so at Fiorentina, who are also in a bit of a mess towards the bottom of Serie A.
The 25-year-old, who was subject to a seven-month ban in 2023 for breaching betting rules, was described by current Juve boss, who called the midfielder up to his Euro 2024 squad, as a "delight when the ball is at his feet." Fagioli was once heralded as one of the brightest Italian prospects of his generation, but his career hasn't quite ignited in the wake of his return from suspension.
He's certainly a player who passes the eye test, and Spurs wouldn't have to break the bank to bring him in. However, I don't regard Nicky Beans as the midfield savior the Lilywhites are crying out for.
