Tottenham have been in a state of inertia for much of the summer transfer window, with so much to do to give Thomas Frank the best chance of succeeding in Year 1.
While I don't believe this squad requires an overhaul despite finishing 17th in the Premier League last season, there are distinct areas of need. James Maddison's significant knee injury has thrust a new No. 10 to the top of our priorities, with Frank's squad currently shy of playmakers.
On Sunday night, we were treated to a dopamine surge that only a surprise transfer bomba can trigger. I overlooked a rumour of Savinho being a potential option last week due to its unlikelihood, but no, this deal has genuine legs.
All the big boys have confirmed the news, and we're all ready to have our hearts broken (again). However, there's reason to believe Savinho will end up in Lilywhite soon.

Pep Guardiola is streamlining his squad for the upcoming campaign, with Manchester City agreeing to let Jack Grealish join Everton on loan and James McAtee move to Nottingham Forest permanently. Could Savinho be next through the exit door?
The Cityzens aren't pushing him out, but the player's apparent desire to play week in, week out in a World Cup year means he's open to a north London switch, and City won't stand in his way. The sticking point, as it stands, is the transfer fee.
However, there's hope that this one doesn't develop into a tiresome, stress-inducing saga. Given the recent spate of sales, Manchester City are poised to re-enter the market themselves, and Fabrizio Romano reports that they're "considering" a move for Real Madrid's Rodrygo.
The Brazilian's future in Spain remains unclear, but Madrid are happy to facilitate a departure for the right fee. If they're able to get Grealish's wages off their books and cash in on some McAtee 'pure profit', City will have more wiggle room to sign Rodrygo. The Madrid winger would surely render Savinho surplus to requirements, even if Pep believes the 21-year-old could blossom into something special.

He enjoyed an impressive debut campaign in England, but one bereft of output. Savinho struggled mightily in front of goal, but was noticeably proficient as a dribbler, no matter what flank he lined up on.
The Brazilian starlet might not be the No. 10 Spurs desire most, but his arrival could see Mohammed Kudus, who's looked excellent in pre-season, move into a central role. Just imagine those two working in tandem.
