Tottenham Hotspur right winger and attacking midfielder Dejan Kulusveski has been out for more than a year with a devastating knee injury that initially seemed like it would only be a small affair. It then became a multi month absences before turning into a nightmare with an indefinite period for return, costing the Swedish international the entire 2025/26 Premier League season - and now the 2026 World Cup for his country.

Both Tottenham and Sweden have suffered badly without Kulusevski, as the former Serie A star had been a crucial player for Spurs and one of the best right wingers in the Premier League prior to going down. A center piece under Ange Postecoglou, Kulu could be a key player for Roberto De Zerbi, too, as he fights hard for the team and is an excellent progressor of the ball as a passer and dribbler from multiple positions.

But Tottenham supporters have been more worried about Kulu's knee injury being career threatening given the dearth of updates from Spurs themselves and only negativity and frightening updates emanating from Sweden in recent months.

Kulusevski gives Tottenham fans something else to cheer for

Finally, Tottenham Hotspur supporters have a ray of sun shine to soak in, as Dejan Kulusevski posted a video clip of himself training with the football on his Instagram page, as relayed by The Spurs Web.

Kulusevski looks happy, active, and enjoying his football, which is huge since the clips of Kulu that were surfacing on social media just a couple of months ago were far more grim, with the veteran forward barely even moving well at all.

It is going to be a long road for Kulusevski to get back, but there is real hope with a video like this that Kulusevski will be in good enough shape to play for Tottenham at some point in the 2026/27 season, and Spurs supporters will pray that it is sooner rather than later.

Although Kulu will not be the main man on the right wing any more after the highly successful signing of Mohammed Kudus from West Ham United last summer transfer window, the veteran leader is still going to be crucial to this team, whether as the No. 2 option on the right wing or a candidate to play in the middle of the park, particularly with countryman and No. 8 Lucas Bergvall demanding a transfer out of the club this summer.

Kulusevski is a beloved player for the Spurs faithful, and on a human level, it is wonderful to see that he is making real progress now.
