Tottenham Hotspur have been one of the more active Premier League teams on the transfer market in recent weeks, against all odds. After a slow start to the transfer market, Spurs secured the permanent signing of Mathys Tel from Bayern Munich before entering another lull phase, awakened by the sudden attack on West Ham for Thomas Frank dream target - and a dream target for many Spurs supporters- in promising right winger Mohammed Kudus.

Spurs are now closing in on Morgan Gibbs-White of Nottingham Forest fame, too, and between Kudus and MGW, Spurs could potentially be landing two more game-changers to an attack that will already include Tel, Son Heung-min, Dominic Solanke, James Maddison, Brennan Johnson, and Dejan Kulusevski next season.

Perhaps Alejandro Garnacho will be one to watch for Tottenham, too. The Manchester United playmaker is one of the most promising U23 talents in the Premier League and a young man tabbed for greatness by his idol Cristiano Ronaldo.

Garnacho clearly wants out of Man United and is being actively shopped by the Red Devils this summer, seemingly not on the favored list of new manager Ruben Amorim. According to new information from Fabrizio Romano, the young Argentinian attacker has expressed a "clear preference" to Manchester United and other clubs that he wants to remain in the Premier League and isn't interested in a transfer abroad.

Only Tottenham and Chelsea make sense for Manchester United

Clubs in Saudi Arabia, including Ronaldo's own Al-Nassr, have approached the young Manchester United forward about a transfer. Napoli were recruiting him hard, too, but it appears Garnacho isn't interested in a move.

Garnacho will cost upwards of 50 million euros, and if he wants to stay in the Premier League, Tottenham immediately spring to mind as a potential destination. The number of suitors for Garnacho will be limited, since only the biggest clubs in the Premier League, like Tottenham, will be able to afford him.

Manchester United surely don't want to sell him to a historic rival like Arsenal or Liverpool, nor would they want to ship him to crosstown rivals Manchester City. So that leaves Tottenham and Chelse as the only other big-six teams that could credibly land Garnacho, and it wouldn't be surprising to see the two duke it out for him in the coming weeks.

Of course, Spurs already have Maddison as a 10 with former 10-assist Forest star Gibbs-White forthcoming. But Garnacho can play on the wings, too, and if the price is right, perhaps Tottenham will be interested in beckoning to the Argentinian's "clear preference" to remain in the Premier League and haunt Manchester United, which is one thing Spurs would undoubtedly love to take part in after beating the Red Devils in the Europa League Final.
