It's rarely a fun occasion when Tottenham make the short trip across the capital to face Chelsea at Stamford Bridge, so at least we're getting the fixture out of the way this time around.
Unfortunately, though, the visit arrives off the back of our first Premier League victory of the new season. Quite remarkably, Spurs were the last team in England's top seven divisions to claim a league win this term, having amassed three points through their opening six games.
Coventry City on Monday night was an absolute must-win for Roberto De Zerbi, and although the Lilywhites weren't outstanding by any means against Frank Lampard's side, the three points were imperative.
De Zerbi has insisted that the club's dire record in SW6, amounting to just a single Premier League victory since the competition's inception, has provided extra motivation for his group of players, aiming to build on the momentum built post-international break.
Chelsea are improving at the start of Xabi Alonso's tenure and boast a fearsome front three. Back-to-back wins has thrust them up to fourth in the table, and they discovered a new side to themselves when they went up to Everton last week and escaped with a 2-0 victory thanks to Pedro Neto's first Premier League brace on his 187th appearance in the competition.

Chelsea team news
Mike Penders will make his first Premier League start for the hosts in goal after Emiliano MartÃnez underwent jaw surgery in the week. That, of course, means the young Belgian shot-stopper will have the game of his life this weekend, and perhaps be never heard of again.
Elsewhere, Malo Gusto's recovered from illness but Reece James is out until the new year. Jamie Gittens (remember him?) remains on the sidelines, and one of the summer arrivals, Pep ChavarrÃa, who absolutely isn't good enough, won't be back in time after picking up an injury in the warm-up at Everton.
Marco Palestra could come in for Jorrel Hato, with the Italian adept on both flanks.
A fearsome trio greets Spurs in attack. Cole Palmer and Morgan Rogers have good records against us, and João Pedro has enjoyed a tremendous start to the new season.
Chelsea predicted lineup vs Tottenham: Penders; Acheampong, Lacroix, Colwill; Neto, Henderson, Caicedo, Palestra; Palmer, Rogers; João Pedro.
Tottenham team news
After inspiring us to victory on Monday night, James Maddison's Ledley King arc continued as he missed the first three training sessions of the week. I'm putting him in my predicted lineup out of sheer hope, but it doesn't exactly sound promising.
De Zerbi confirmed that Destiny Udogie, Lucas Bergvall and Sávio will miss out again, but Tosin Adarabioyo and Andy Robertson are fit after hobbling off against Coventry.
I hope Mateus Fernandes partners Sandro Tonali in midfield, with Conor Gallagher the most likely candidate to start in Maddison's absence. The front three will likely remain the same.
Dejan Kulusevski is an option again off the bench (hooray!).
Tottenham predicted lineup vs Chelsea: Kinsky; Gray, Van Hecke, Van de Ven, Robertson; Tonali, Fernandes; Kudus, Maddison, Marmoush; Solanke
Chelsea vs Tottenham score prediction
I don't exactly know what to feel heading into this game. I think the vibes are pretty high around the squad at the moment, and there may well be a belief that an all-too-rare result is within our grasp this weekend.
However, I've been kidded before ahead of Chelsea away. Often, optimism is a bad sign. My lack of optimism here is somewhat reassuring, and I think we'll offer a good account of ourselves at the Stamford Bridge.
This is a good, evolving Blues outfit that look harder to beat now than they did a month or so ago. Their attack frightens me, too, and I suspect their quality in the final third will ultimately prove the difference, especially if Maddison can't start.
Prediction: Chelsea 2–1 Tottenham
