By now, it's clear what Tottenham need to do with Mikey Moore

Young Tottenham Hotspur winger Mikey Moore is one of the most talented players in the organization, and after losing Luka Vuskovic to Brighton and in the midst of another possible crisis over Lucas Bergvall and Nottingham Forest's continued interest in the top midfield gem, Spurs have to be careful with Moore's future.

But Moore seems a lot more reasonable than Bergvall and Vuskovic, less caught up in the wrong people in his ear and with more humility. Moore had a great 2025/26 season on loan in Scotland with powerhouse Rangers, scoring great goals in the Old Firm Derby on multiple occasions to become the sort of player Rangers fans dangerously fell in love with.

Another loan to Rangers is not at all in the cards, as Moore played well enough to graduate towards a bigger loan to a top five European league, sort of like the one Vuskovic very successfully completed with Hamburg in the German Bundesliga.

Tottenham have no space

There has been talk that Mikey Moore could be back with the Tottenham Hotspur first team in the 2026/27 season, and whlie he could be a decent backup option, the field is going to be too crowded for Spurs to give him the minutes he needs to develop.

See, Tottenham are already going to have trouble getting minutes for Mathys Tel and Wilson Odobert, who are both very talented and good enough to play for Tottenham but not nearly good enough for starting for a team that wants to win the Premier League (and yes that is how ambitious Roberto De Zerbi is).

And since Spurs already spent 185 million pounds on Sandro Tonali and Mateus Fernandes, it is clear that De Zerbi and Tottenham want to invest that much in forwards. They are being linked to some huge names, too, like Eli Junior Kroupi, Savinho, Marcus Rashford, Rafeal Leao, and Cody Gakpo. It stands to reason that Spurs will sign at least one left winger and one striker, and they may even hedge their bets by signing two left wingers: a goal scoring profile and and electric young player in a more traditional winger role like Manchester City's Savinho.

All of that means Mikey Moore would be buried deep on the Tottenham depth chart if he were to make his way back to the Lilywhites first team squad in 2026/27. That further points to a loan being the obvious decision Tottenham have to make, because they can't fit in all of Moore, Odobert, and Tel while still trying to win games into the top five.
