Tottenham Hotspur have secured a new look defense with the trio of Marcos Senesi, Andy Robertson, and Roberto De Zerbi favorite Jan Paul van Hecke, and they have now just spent a combined 185 million pounds on two potentially world class defensive midfielders in Sandro Tonali and Mateus Fernandes - two other dream targets of the Italian manager's.
So if Tottenham are escalating their investment from defense to midfield to commesurately upgrade their weak points, then it stands to reason that Spurs will be making some insane splashes to upgrade an attack that was so futile last season in the Premier League, only Richarlison, who was a subpar option anyway, had double digit goals.
There have been a few names linked to Spurs on the wings, but the only concrete striker option has just emerged in Bournemouth's Eli Junior Kroupi. Tottenham already spent a then record 65 million pounds to sign Dominic Solanke from Bournemouth in 2024, and while he did win the Europa League, he hasn't exactly convinced at striker.
Tottenham need a new goal scorer
Still, after Randal Kolo Muani's failed loan from PSG, Tottenham Hotspur are actually trying to cut ties with Richarlison after floating his name on the transfer market the previous two summers. But in order to divest from the Brazilian, they need to add a real standout up top who can start over Solanke and bring goals for the next several years to come.
Kroupi could be the man, and Tottenham fans are already excited about the prospect of bringing him into the fold. And he really could be moving, because Bournemouth are close to signing one of the best young striker prospects in European football - a player proven at Elche in La Liga and with a Real Madrid pedigree.
According to a report from Mario Cortegana of The Athletic, the Cherries are in advanced talks to sign the tall and lanky Alvaro Rodriguez after his standout breakout season. The deal is expected to be for a cool 30 million euros, as Alvaro scored 7 goals and 5 assists last season with some of the best all around play and creativity at the striker position in the Spanish league, having flashed his potential for Madrid rivals Getafe in the 2024/25 season.
Alvaro is not as stellar as Eli Junior Kroupi, but Bournemouth tend to get these young signings spot on, just as they did last season with Kroupi and Rayan. Kroupi scored an incredible 13 goals last season and was a devastating finisher in the Premier League for a Bournemouth side that will reach Europe, so he outperformed Richarlison as a player and Tottenham Hotspur as a team.
Bournemouth signing Alvaro would open the door for Tottenham to make a strong play for Kroupi, and even at the age of 20, he already looks like an immediate upgrade on the mercurial Richarlison
