The start of the 2025/26 season is edging closer, with Tottenham continuing their preparations for the new campaign by taking on Bayern Munich in a friendly on Thursday.
Seemingly part of the agreement when we sold Harry Kane to the Bavarian behemoths in 2023 was that we'd play each other every summer, and this is the third meeting between the two clubs since Kane jumped ship.
Last summer, Bayern edged both friendlies 2-1 and 3-2, with the latter seeing our all-time record goalscorer return to N17 for the very first time. Kane then went on to secure his first piece of major silverware in the form of the Bundesliga title, while Spurs ended their 17-year wait for a trophy by winning the Europa League.
Bayern played their first friendly of the summer against Lyon at the weekend, having exited the Club World Cup in the quarter-finals to Paris Saint-Germain, our upcoming opponents in the UEFA Super Cup, last month.
Thomas Frank, meanwhile, has overseen three domestic friendlies, as well as two fixtures against Premier League opposition in the Far East. After downing Arsenal 1-0 in the first-ever North London Derby played overseas, Spurs were held to a 1-1 draw by Newcastle on Sunday.
Here's our preview of Thursday's pre-season friendly in Munich.

Tottenham team news
Joao Palhinha is expected to make his Spurs bow against his parent club on Thursday, with the Portuguese international likely to appear off the bench in Munich.
The visitors are likely without Dominic Solanke again due to a niggling ankle injury, while Dejan Kulusevski, Destiny Udogie, Radu Dragusin, Bryan Gil and Manor Solomon are certain absentees. James Maddison is the latest to succumb to a major setback, with the knee injury he sustained against Newcastle on Sunday likely to keep him out of action for a prolonged period.
A foot injury prevented Kota Takai from touring with his new teammates, and it remains to be seen when the Japanese international will be back in action.
Frank will otherwise opt for a strong starting lineup with the Super Cup less than a week away.

Bayern Munich vs Tottenham score prediction
Bayern have had a hectic summer, with their travails across the pond facilitating a rather unique schedule ahead of the 2025/26 season.
Kompany will tinker plenty here, but both managers should put out close to full strength starting XIs, which should mkae for a high-quality encounter in Munich.
Bayern have dominated the head-to-head duel historically, but their post-Club World Cup break means they're getting back into the swing of things once more. Thus, there may be a chance for a battle-hardened Spurs to earn an inconsequential result on Thursday.
