With Tottenham Hotspur now officially sitting in one of the three Premier League relegation places after a 1-0 loss to Sunderland last weekend, Spurs fans are now preparing for a potential exodus of star players this summer transfer window.

Although there are some stars whom Spurs fans now feel were overrated and would be happy to see gone for some sort of a profit, there are number of beloved players both in the short and long term whom Spurs supporters would not want to see go in June.

The good news is that at least one of those players is highly likely to stay. According to Italian transfer insider Gianluca Di Marzio, via Football.London's Alasdair Gold, Dejan Kulusevski will be a big name at Tottenham who is not at risk of leaving. Di Marzio, in fact, believes that Kulu is "definitely" going to stay at the N17 this season, even if Spurs get relegated. And he further added that former Serie A manager Roberto De Zerbi, who probably watched Kulu play for clubs like Parma and Juventus while he was coaching Sassuolo, is a fan of the Swede, too.

Dejan Kulusevski is a real leader

Cynically, perhaps, it can be pointed out that with Kulusevski coming off a severe injury to his knee that has cost him the entire season and doesn't appear to have a diagnosis, it is highly doubtful any other club, certainly not one as prestigious as Spurs, would even want to risk paying a fee of any significance to sign him.

On a more heartwarming note and what is likely the biggest reason for Dejan Kulusevski to stay with Tottenham, this is a chance for Kulu to rebuild himself and maintain his legacy with Spurs as something more than just another player who has come through this struggling and oft underperforming major club in England.

Kulusevski is a real leader for this team, and he was important last season before the injury in getting Spurs back to the summit of a European competition for the first time in nearly 50 years. He is versatile, he works hard for his teamates, and he has more technical and athletic quality than half the players in this squad at a minimum.

Losing Kulusevski would be a big loss from multiple perspectives, so to hear a prestigious transfer reporter like Di Marzio, who is probably plugged in to Kulu after covering him for years in Italy, almost totally rule out a transfer away is a big deal for Spurs.
