Even though Tottenham Hotspur surrendered two goals to Brighton a couple of weeks ago, young goalkeeper Antonin Kinksy impressed with a couple of big saves and spotless performance to respond from the lowest of the lows, his debacle at the notoriously slippery Atletico Madrid stadium in a loss that doomed Spurs the Champions League.

Kinsky followed up his promising display against the Seagulls with a well earned clean sheet against Wolves to keep Spurs season alive. And now that Guglielmo Vicario is one step closer towards officially leaving Spurs for a Serie A return with sure fire champions Inter Milan, there is no reason to avoid starting Kinsky and even sticking with him long term, especially if Spurs get sent down to the EFL Championship.

But part of the reason why Tottenham Hotspur don't exactly have to punch their ticket to the second division is the breakout of Antonin Kinsky. Spurs fans had been hoping for months for their managers to give Kinsky a real look in goal, and whlie Igor Tudor nearly fumbled it all by throwing the Czech shot stopper to the wolves by starting him cold turkey against Atletico Madrid on a Champions League knockout night, the young keeper passed his own stress test during Vicario's absence due to hernia surgery.

Antonin Kinsky is less prone to errors

Under the most doubt and pressure possible, Kinsky is shining, and he is proving to be a real upgrade on Guglielmo Vicario. While Vicario is a great pure shot stopper, all his highlight reel plays mean very little when he is the one costing Spurs points in the table with inexcusable errors both with the ball at his feet and in the air with crosses.

Kinsky has cut down on those significantly, ironically being the guy known for errors after that game against Atletico Madrid. But those slips and slides on THAT turf were down to bad luck out of his control. What Vicario has been doing all season long is not luck, and with no upside in keeping him in goal, the decision is becoming clear for Spurs.

Beyond that, Kinsky has earned these starts. He is saving points in the table for Tottenham by not gifting easy goals, offering more security in between the sticks than Vicario has been. It is all on the line for Tottenham in terms of their Premier League survival, and Kinsky, with his resurgence, is quietly becoming a symbol of hope for Spurs.
