Whilst there is only one Premier League game taking place today, there is a full slate across the English Football League - with games in the Championship, League One, and League Two. As a result, there were games for a number of Spurs loanees. Including in the third tier - let's find out how everything went for Josh Keeley and Jamie Donley.
Taking a look at the New Year's Day slate across the EFL
As usual, Keeley and Donley were in the starting XI, as their Leyton Orient side made the trip across to the South West to face lowly Bristol Rovers.
Just six minutes into the game, Rovers had a big chance to take the lead, but Keeley was on hand to make a big save from point blank range. Not even three minutes later, Orient would take the lead themselves, making that save all the more important.
Unfortunately, just after the half hour mark - the streak without conceding a goal finally came to an end, as the hosts equalised from the penalty spot. This goal ended a run of 635 minutes without conceding a single goal for Keeley and his defenders. The goalkeeper was shown a yellow card for his protestations at the penalty being awarded.
However, Orient would be back in front before long. Just seven minutes later, Donley put the O's back in front with a superb, beautifully struck free-kick from the right hand side, to make it three goals in his last four games. What a talent this boy is proving to be.
That goal would be enough to into the break one goal to the good. Eight minutes later, their lead was extended to two goals, with striker Charlie Kelman continuing his good form of late. With just over a quarter of an hour remaining, Rovers got their second goal of the game to ensure a tense finish.
Then, in stoppage time, the home side thought they had levelled it, with Martin seeming to score his hat-trick, but the ball was adjudged to have hit a Rovers hand on its way in, and Wellens's side were off the hook. That would be that, and it would be yet another win for the young loanee's side.
This win has taken Orient up to 8th in League One, just five points off the play-offs. This time last month, they were 21st in League One. Next up is a home game against Shrewsbury Town on Saturday, with a 15:00 GMT kick off.
Finally, Matthew Craig was again not named in the Barnsley match day squad. We can assume that he will be recalled in the coming days.
