Beloved former Tottenham Hotspur manager Ange Postecoglou has officially taken over one of the richest clubs in the world and defending league champions Al Nassr, where he will get to coach some of the biggest stars in the world in Cristiano Ronaldo, Sadio Mane, Kingsley Coman, and more.

But one notable name is officially leaving Al Nassr this summer, as Fabrizio Romano has confirmed the departure of Croatian national team hero and 2018 World Cup finalist Marcelo Brozovic. The 33 year old veteran is hitting free agency and looking for a new opportunity, and that means Al Nassr have a big hole to fill in their defensive midfield with the former Inter Milan man leaving.

Tottenham Hotspur supporters have been wondering if there are any players Postecoglou would like to bring with him from the Spurs side that he led to a historic 2024/25 Europa League title. Richarlison and Cristian Romero are both players with a close relationship with Big Ange. Spurs have been floating Richy to the Saudi Pro League for years, while Romero clearly wants out, though the Spanish league would make more sense for the 2022 World Cup winner.

Ange Postecoglou has options with Spurs

Meanwhile, after spending 185 million pounds on Sandro Tonali and Mateus Fernandes as massive upgrades to the midfield for new manager Roberto De Zerbi - the sort of signings Postecoglou would have killed for - there are several out of favor Spurs midfielders who need to go.

Perhaps with Marcelo Brozovic walking away, Ange Postecoglou would like to take Pape Matar Sarr, Rodrigo Bentancur, or Conor Gallagher off of Spurs hands. Gallagher, despite the feelings of the fan base and his high wages, is favored by De Zerbi and the least likely of the three to go.

But Sarr is already transfer listed with interest from London rivals Brentford, and Spurs would surely prefer to sell the Senegal international outside of the Premier League - and would surely get more money from Al Nassr than the Bees.

Meanwhile, Rodrigo Bentancur is not transfer listed yet, but the holding midfielder has never truly impressed with Spurs beyond a nice stretch of games under Roberto De Zerbi. If Big Ange likes him and the Saudi Arabian government is willing to sanction a nifty investment, Spurs would love to make a profit on a player who won't be starting anyway - and probably shouldn't be taking minutes from Archie Gray for a full 2026/27 season without, presumably, a relegation battle to favor a veteran.
