The season is long for sure, but already Tottenham Hotspur and manager Roberto De Zerbi are learning things about the new players and the revamped squad in the coach's first full season at the helm of what aims to be a long term project designed to finally get this proud club to win a Premier League title.

Tottenham are already showing great signs of growth, rebounding from a winless start to the season to now produce three straight victories - and they have been undefeated since the September and October international break.

Heading into the last game before the November international break against underdogs Leeds United, left back Andy Robertson is one of those players whom Spurs are learning more about. The veteran left back is one of the best defensive players of the last decade in European football, but with age, he has been slow and exposed against certain types of opponents, and that has been the case in a couple of games this season for Spurs.

Tottenham need Andy Robertson's crossing

But while the veteran free agent isn't a better option than oft injured incumbent Destiny Udogie, the Scottish international reminded fans last weekend in the 2-0 win over Crystal Palace that he has quality to bring to the table. Against teams that Spurs can dominate in possession and don't have to be worried about being exposed with speed defensively, Robertson can be the starter over Udogie and a great option to give the Italian international further rest. And while Udogie did get a few minutes, he's still not ready to start before the break, especially with how high of an aggravation risk he is.

Leeds United are a more defensive team, and they are a perfect opponent for Andy Robertson to get another start for Tottenham Hotspur against. In fact, Robbo should be a major asset for Spurs. He put in some teasing crosses, creating a trio of chances in total while defending pretty well all around for the Lilywhites against Crystal Palace.

A similar display would be beneficial for Spurs vs. Leeds. The Peacocks are going to play very defensive and make life exceedingly difficult for the forwards, so one of their best ways of generating chances will actually be those trademark early crosses from Robbo, finding the holes with sneaked through balls or threading those gorgeous, looping balls in the air lobbed to the far post. Dominic Solanke and Omar Marmoush need chances on a platter with the form they are in as scorers, and Robertson's best trait, his abiity to cross (especially early), could be what helps decide the match for Spurs vs. Leeds.
