Analysis of each performance in the win over Manchester City
By Tom Vinall
Pedro Porro
It does not feel like an exaggeration to say that Porro had his best performance of the season here. After a bright start to the campaign, the defender had definitely gone off the boil ahead of the previous international break.
During that break, the 25-year old had a really good game for Spain against Denmark in the nations league. We suggested that could be a catalyst for an upturn in form, and it has proven that way. An absolutely brilliantly taken goal, with a finish that a striker would have been happy with.
This was not an example of a goal papering over cracks though, it was a great overall performance from Porro, who made seven clearances as he continues to improve defensively. As always, his technique in build up was important. Let’s keep it going.
