Analysis of each performance in the win over Manchester City
By Tom Vinall
Heung-Min Son
Like Kulusevski, the skipper did not add to his growing collection against City, but did provide a superb assist to Maddison. Having feigned to cut inside, the skipper showed excellent footwork to keep hold of the ball, before playing a deft pass to Spurs' number ten, who managed to do the rest.
Elsewhere, Son was unlucky not to score, with a superb curling effort in the first half, that was well tipped away by Ederson. Ange took him off after 63 minutes as he manages his minutes, perhaps conscious of the fact he is going to need to start against Roma, owing to the lack of alternative options.
The 32-year old’s creative numbers are going under the radar, providing four assists, and creating seven big chances in nine Premier League games so far this season. Let’s hope he can now stay fit, as Spurs are most certainly going to need their captain over the coming months.
