The biggest game in the history of Tottenham Hotspur is set to take place on Sunday afternoon against Everton, and, yes, fighting for Premier League survival is even bigger than a Champions League Final. Spurs could be headed back down to the EFL Championship if they are unable to get a point against the Toffees and if the Hammers hold up their end of the bargain against a Leeds United that no longer has anything to play for.

Spurs left it all to do for themselves until the last day after losing to Chelsea for the second time this season, and while a draw is good enough, as Tuesday night's debacle at the Bridge showed, Roberto De Zerbi and his men simply cannot be playing for a draw.

It is a match with the weight of Judgment Day and everything hanging in the balance for Spurs, and while he does not think it is going to be remotely easy and his prediction does not exactly exude confidence in Spurs (nor do they really deserve any), legendary Premier League striker Alan Shearer is, once again, sticking to his guns in saying that the Lilywhites will be able to avoid the drop, predicting a draw for Spurs.

Alan Shearer is betting on Spurs, but only just

Shearer said of the Tottenham Hotspur vs. Everton clash on Sunday, via Chris Cowlin, “It’s such a tough one to call, I mean, I have no confidence on either side, and this is a pure guess. The pressure that Spurs are going to be under, I do think that Everton will go and get something off Spurs. I’m going to go and say a draw, and I think Spurs will stay up on goal difference."

Meanwhile, Shearer thinks that West Ham United will be able to win against Leeds at the same time, but because Spurs are ableto grind out the point by the skin of their teeth, the Lilywhites will be able to avoid relegation.

Shearer said of West Ham vs. Leeds, “I saw West Ham last week, I was at the game at Newcastle on Sunday, oh my goodness, they were so bad defensively. They came in with a new system, tried to play five at the back and changed after 25 minutes or so because they were 2-0 down. But they were really, really poor. They’ve got to try and get that win and try and put as much pressure on Tottenham Hotspur as possible, because you can imagine the picture where we’re flicking to Tottenham’s ground and we’re flicking to West Ham at different points on Sunday afternoon. I’m going to go for a West Ham win but unfortunately, I don’t think it will be enough to keep them up as I can see Spurs and Everton playing out a draw at the Tottenham Hotspur stadium."

Tottenham have zero margin for error now, and if Alan Shearer is predicting West Ham United to beat Leeds on Sunday, which is a more than reasonable bet, then that puts even more pressure on Spurs, who are a toss up to even get a tie against a superior Everton side. Spurs control their own destiny, but it is also only theirs to control with how West Ham are favored to win.
