Former Tottenham Hotspur manager Ange Postecoglou has landed on his feet again after last season's debacle at Nottingham Forest, and whlie he will not be in the Premier League or another top European league, Big Ange is still getting a massive job where he will coach some of the biggest names in the history of the game like Sadio Mane and Cristiano Ronaldo at Al Nassr.
From a more selfish perspective, this move could be great news for Tottenham, because the Saudi Pro League giants would give Spurs the opportunity to raise even more capital for Roberto De Zerbi's ambitious star signings like Mateus Fernandes and Sandro Tonali. Saudi Pro League clubs have money to burn, and maybe Postecoglou would be willing to give Spurs some of it for a few of his former players.
Here are five Tottenham players the club would love to sell to Big Ange for bigger money.
CB Radu Dragusin
Cristian Romero and Ange Postecoglou had a close relationship, but it is hard to envision the Argentinian center back wanting to go to Saudi already when La Liga giants could be on the table. Big if Postecoglou is still a big fan of Radu Dragusin, selling him for any amount of money to Al Nassr would be a massive boon. Dragusin is terrible and does not fit Roberto De Zerbi at all with how bad he is on the ball.
ST Richarlison
Richarlison was Spurs leading goal scorer last season and has a great rapport with Postecoglou. The Brazilian international is nearing the end of the line, though, and Spurs were already trying to sell him to Saudi. If Al Nassr are willing to give a good offer, Spurs need to take it and sign a better, younger striker.
CM Rodrigo Bentancur
Tottenham Hotspur made a massive upgrade in midfield with the double swoop for Sandro Tonali and Mateus Fernandes, leaving Rodrigo Bentancur to be a veteran backup - and most Spurs fans would not want to play him over Archie Gray either. Bentancur is subpar with no future at the club, so if Ange Postecoglou wants a reunion, De Zerbi would not stand in his way.
CM Pape Matar Sarr
Pape Matar Sarr is buried even further on the depth chart to the point where he is completely forgotten. Out of nowhere, Brentford have been linked, but Spurs would surely rather sell him to Al Nassr than a London based Premier League club.
ST Dominic Solanke
Finally, Dominic Solanke has not been at all worth the 65 million pounds Spurs signed him for in 2024, which was a record fee at the time. Solanke, like the others, had a great relationship with Postecoglou and was his signing. If Al Nassr are crazy enough to sign him for what Spurs bought him for, that money could be put to perfect use for a better No. 9 who can actually score goals.
