Tottenham Hotspur have a new attacking star in town, as the Lilywhites sealed a deal for a loan transfer to acquire Egyptian international Omar Marmoush, a favorite target of Roberto De Zerbi's whom the club was interested in all the way back to last winter transfer window. Spurs have a 50 million pound obligation to buy Marmoush if certain conditions are met, and he will immediately slot in as the starting center forward.
Here are the the five biggest winners and losers of this transfer.
Winner: Savinho
Savinho is going to love having a familiar face in Omar Marmoush to help him unlock Premier League defenses, as the two will get much more regular playing time as the faces of the Tottenham attack than they did when they were buried on the Manchester City bench behind players like Antoine Semenyo, Rayan Cherki, Jeremy Doku, and, of course, Erling Haaland. Savinho is more of a creator and a left footed winger, and he will benefit from being able to produce chances for Marmoush.
Loser: Richarlison
Richarlison had a woeful game against Brentford just before Tottenham Hotspur confirmed the Marmoush deal with Manchester City, so if anyone lost the most from this move, then it is the Brazilian international. Richy seemed safe at one point after a decent 2025/26 Premier League season, all told, with 11 goals, but his decent was really only in comparison to rest of the Spurs attack. In truth, Richarlison is not good enough to play striker for this team, and his exit is one step closer.
Winner: Roberto De Zerbi
Quietly, Roberto De Zerbi wanted Omar Marmoush as his new center forward badly, and the Egyptian star can play as a goal scoring left winger, too. Now, the Italian head coach has his leading target, as Spurs, once again, listened to their coach and did whatever it took to sign his favored option.
Loser: Dominic Solanke
Richarlison is under more fire after that horrible performance in the 3-0 loss to Brentford, but Dominic Solanke is not out of the woods yet either. He continues to be totally unreliable from a fitness perspective, and, on the pitch, he has been below his own 65 million pound price tag. Marmoush is cheaper and better than Solanke, and if Cody Gakpo comes, too, then Solanke can really kiss his Tottenham future goodbye.
Winner: James Maddison
James Maddison will be Tottenham's weekly starting No. 10 until Xavi Simons recovers from his own ACL tear, and Maddison, even more than Simons, relies on having better forwards who can make actual runs off the shoulder and get open. Marmoush is one of the best in the Premier League off the ball, and Maddison is going to absolutely love hitting him up with through balls.
