Tottenham Hotspur will battle Everton on Matchday 4 of the 2026/27 Premier League season, and whlile Spurs are reeling with no goals and no wins in three games to start Roberto De Zerbi's first full campaign in charge, there is real optimism that with key players getting to full fitness, Spurs can get back on track against a Toffees side they beat to survive Premier League relegation on Matchday 38 of the 2025/26 season.
Here are three Tottenham stars who are poised to go off for huge games in front of the home fans and lead their team to a first victory.
LB Destiny Udogie
Tottenham are clearly a better team with Destiny Udogie in the starting 11, just as they were last season, and the Italian international brings a lot more progression and quality on the ball than the washed up Andy Robertson this season, which is a similar case to comparing him to Djed Spence last season. Everton are weak on the right flank, and Udogie can make a familiar face in Brennan Johnson look bad.
DM Rodrigo Bentancur
Rodrigo Bentancur has been one of the best players on Tottenham Hotspur this season, showing that his resurgence under Roberto De Zerbi to close the 2025/26 Premier League season was no fluke. He was the best midfielder in the game last weekend against Nottingham Forest, and had the four players in front of him been more up to it, his brilliant passing, control of the game, and reading of the pitch would have been rewarded with a win. Although Everton have 2025/26 breakout midfielder James Garner, the base of their midfield looks weak to start the season and is ripe for Benta to pick on.
LW Savio
No player will be watched more closely on Tottenham this weekend than Savio. The Brazilian international is such a talented and explosive wide player, and while Spurs could opt to invert him on the right wing, it makes far more sense for Roberto De Zerbi to get double trouble on the field and attack Everton from the flanks with Mohammed Kudus and Savio simultaneously. As with Destiny Udogie, it's unclear if Savio has the green light to play more than 60 minutes, but Spurs definitely want to see these two dominate the left flank together against Brennan Johnson and Merlin Rohl, as Everton's right side is going to be weaker than their left in this matchup.
