3 Tottenham players at biggest risk of losing minutes to Luca Williams-Barnett

Luca Williams-Barnett is all the rage around Tottenham Hotspur after two golden minutes in the 2-0 win over Crystal Palace last weekend and one scampering run in which he embarrassed a handful of defenders before setting up Mohammed Kudus with what should have been a third goal for Spurs.

After watching him in the preseason, Spurs fans had already fallen in love with their latest home grown sensation, and it won't be long before he pushes for more minutes - and starts. Here are three stars who need to be wary of their spots to LWB.

LW Mykhaylo Mudryk

Mykhaylo Mudryk is the most obvious candidate to fade away if Luca Williams-Barnett breaks out like many Tottenham fans are anticipating. He has not played much this season after injuring his ankle in his first appearance off the bench, and while Roberto De Zerbi loves the Ukrainian international, he really hasn't done anything impressive in his career to this point, other than cost Chelsea a lot of money. De Zerbi won't want to give up on him easily, but for the fans, a loan termination is in play if Williams-Barnett takes off flying.

FW Wilson Odobert

Wilson Odobert is not yet in the picture after a torn ACL last season, but he is back in training already and could return sooner than anticipated after De Zerbi and reporters initially had him ticketed for a January return. The Frenchman was exceptional before his injury and seemed to have finally clicked. But all bets are off on what he can do when he comes back after a big injury, and, in all honesty, Luca Williams-Barnett has looked like a more impressive player and is just as versatile in terms of being able to play as a 10 or on either flank.

AM Conor Gallagher

Conor Gallagher has shown the British Bulldog within him and become a more respected player by the Tottenham Hotspur fans. He has a spot in the team as as rotational player and a more defensive 10, and he can help the squad in their goal of returning to the Champions League. But he's also very limited technically and as a playmaker. Williams-Barnett has more long term upside and is a more impactful attacking player even in the short term. He can play as a 10 and take those backup minutes from Gallagher immediately if James Maddison needs to miss time again (and he will need rest). Beyond this season, LWB is another argument for selling Gallagher in the summer.
