3 players Tottenham must sell in final week of transfer window

Tottenham Hotspur are on the cusp of overseeing a pretty dire transfer window, and not only because of the lack of new arrivals to bolster Thomas Frank's squad.

We haven't been great at selling for quite some time, unless its our most prized asset, and our inability to offload deadwood has reared its ugly head again this summer.

Son Heung-min is the only player to depart for a fee, while Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg completed his move to Marseille after spending last season on loan with the French club. Otherwise, we've been limited to developmental loans and contract expiries.

I don't think we're in a sell-to-buy mood, although the club are operating like that's very much the case. Here are three players Spurs must shift during the final week of the summer transfer window.

1. Yves Bissouma

Magic on his day but remarkably inconsistent, Bissouma thankfully saved some of his best work for the latter stages of last season's Europa League success.

A big personality, the Mali international would certainly leave a void in the dressing room, but supporters are almost unanimous in their belief that it's time for Bissouma to depart. He's already burned a bridge or two with Thomas Frank by showing up late on multiple occasions before the UEFA Super Cup, which meant he didn't travel to Udine.

He's been thrust down a stacked midfield pecking order, and surely has no future with Frank at the helm. The robust Joao Palhinha will steal the bulk of his minutes.

Spurs are undoubtedly open to selling, but links to the likes of Fenerbahce, Roma and West Ham have been tenuous thus far. Still, we'll be expected to make a loss after spending £25m to sign him three years ago.

2. Bryan Gil

We sacrificed more years of Erik Lamela s***housery for the unsellable Bryan Gil. Fabio Paratici has done plenty good for this club, but that deal has proven to be a head-scratcher.

Fifth Beatle Gil is a tidy footballer who will surely enjoy the remainder of his career in Spain. I've never seen someone less cut out for the rigours of the Premier League.

The crafty wide player has impressed during loan spells at Sevilla and Girona, but no one wants to buy the 24-year-old, who has five Spain caps, permanently.

I think we'll take any fee, at this point.

3. Manor Solomon

Like Gil, Solomon is a neat and tidy wide player who can beat a man one-on-one. The Israeli international offered glimpses at Fulham before joining the Lilywhites, and is loan to Leeds United last season proved to be a success.

Solomon scored ten times for the Championship winners, and you would've thought the newly promoted club would've made more of a push to sign the former Shakhtar Donetsk star this summer.

The 26-year-old isn't of the requisite level to shine in Lilywhite, especially given that the likes of Mathys Tel and Wilson Odobert are struggling for minutes at the start of 2025/26, but would doubtless be useful for a side merely aiming to stay in the Premier League this term.

My guess is that Leeds come back in for him late.
