Thomas Frank was a highly rated coach when he was at Brentford. He achieved promotion from the Championship with the Bees and established them in the Premier League. Tottenham Hotspur chose him as Ange Postecoglou's replacement, but it has not worked out so far.

Last season, Postecoglou led Spurs to winning the Europa League, but they finished 17th in the Premier League. It felt like a new era for Tottenham as they ended their trophy drought, and Daniel Levy soon departed the club. However, Frank has not been able to make the impact that he would have wanted to so far.

Tottenham are currently 11th in the Premier League, and they have won just one of their last seven games in the division. The recent 3-0 thrashing by Nottingham Forest has heaped pressure on Frank. Contenders to replace the Dane are already being talked about.

Xavi Hernandez

Xavi Hernandez would be a big-name appointment, which would certainly make a huge statement. He is a soccer legend from his playing days with Barcelona and the Spanish national team. The midfielder won the Champions League four times and La Liga eight times with Barca. With Spain, he won the World Cup and the European Championships twice.

He ended his playing career with Al-Sadd and went on to start his managerial career with the Qatari side. Xavi won the Qatar Stars League with Al-Sadd before taking over at Barcelona. At his former club, Xavi won La Liga and the Supercopa de España. However, he was replaced by Hansi Flick after a tumultuous season.

It would be a gamble for Tottenham to take a chance on Xavi. He has won the Spanish league as manager of Barca, but his final season with the club was a disaster. After losing 5-3 to Villarreal mid-way through the campaign, Xavi said that he would leave the club at the end of the season. He reversed his decision, but Flick ended up replacing him anyway.

Xavi also has no experience of English soccer. He has played and managed against Premier League opposition in the Champions League. However, it is a different kettle of fish competing in England. His mentor, Pep Guardiola, even had to adapt his playing style when taking over at Manchester City. It would be very difficult for Xavi to implement his style of play at Tottenham mid-way through the season.

Oliver Glasner

Oliver Glasner has worked wonders at Crystal Palace, winning them the FA Cup and the Community Shield. He currently has the Eagles fifth in the Premier League, but all is not well at Selhurst Park. They sold Eberechi Eze to Arsenal last summer, and were close to losing Marc Guehi to Liverpool.

There were rumors that Glasner would quit Palace if Guehi was sold. The defender is in the final year of his contract and will no doubt leave at the end of the campaign. Glasner will be getting frustrated at Palace continuing to lose their best players, which could make him an option for Tottenham.

Glasner hit the ground running when replacing Roy Hodgson last year. He has now finally won the club silverware and got them competing in Europe. Spurs would be hoping that he could have a similar impact at their club. The Austrian is also a proven winner as he claimed the Europa League title with Eintracht Frankfurt.

Marco Silva

There have been recent reports that Marco Silva is seriously considering his position at Fulham. He believes he has not been backed by the club in the transfer market, which is why he cannot take the club to the next level.

Last summer, Fulham did buy Kevin from Shakhtar Donetsk for £34.6 million. They also signed Samuel Chukwueze and Jonah Kusi-Asare on loan deals from AC Milan and Bayern Munich, respectively. Benjamin Lecomte also joined the club from Montpellier.

Fulham are currently 14th in the Premier League, and only two points behind Tottenham. Silva's side also defeated Spurs 2-1 recently at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.

Silva knows English soccer very well, having also managed Hull City, Watford, and Everton. He is ambitious, having turned down offers from two Saudi Pro League sides. Both Al-Ahli and Al-Hilal were rejected, whilst Silva has been at Fulham.

His Premier League experience makes him a strong candidate, but he may be seen as too much of a like-for-like switch at Tottenham. He and Frank have both done very well at getting Fulham and Brentford promoted to the Premier League. They also established their clubs in the division, but did not win any major silverware.

Spurs will be craving to add more silverware to their cabinet to build on their Europa League triumph. More trophies are not guaranteed by appointing Silva. Possibly at a bigger club than Fulham, Silva could lead a team to more success.
