France and Morocco will face off in a massive 2026 World Cup quarterfinal, and Tottenham Hotspur fans have every reason to watch this game, even from their own club's perspective. Because there are three prime transfer targets playing for these clubs who are worth watching closely.
France LW Bradley Barcola (PSG)
PSG are relaying that they have no interest in selling Bradley Barcola this summer transfer window, but with interest in both Yan Diomande (the gem from the Ivory Coast has chosen Paris over all other destinations, such as Liverpool) and Monaco rival Maghnes Akliouche, Barcola, who has not confirmed his future at the club, could ask to leave.
Barcola is the sidekick for both PSG and France, but with several game changing goals and assists for the two time Champions League winners and the World Cup favorites, too, he has more than shown his quality. He would be a pipe dream for Tottenham Hotspur on the left wing.
France RW Maghnes Akliouche (Monaco)
Tottenham were keenly interested in Akliouche throughout the last summer transfer window and the 2025/26 season, with Spurs blown away by how well he played against them in the Champions League for Monaco.
A big game player, Akliouche barely gets to play on the field because of all the talent France have in their national team, only logging seven minutes this World Cup. But while he is more underrated than other targets linked to Spurs, there is a reason why the 24 year old is badly wanted by PSG and on the verge of joining the Ligue 1 giants. He's rock solid.
Morocco RW Brahim Diaz (Real Madrid)
Brahim Diaz has been an assist machine at the World Cup this year with a handful of them, coming up huge in the clutch with perfectly weighted passes in transition. A moment's player, Brahim probably doesn't have the athletic traits to play as a right winger in the Premier League, and even though Jose Mourinho and Real Madrid want to keep him for another season, the Merengues have wondered the same about his fit, too.
But Brahim works hard and produces, there is no denying that. A winne for both Morocco and Real Madrid, Brahim has real moxie about him, and he is even a Scudetto winner for AC Milan. He has traits that Roberto De Zerbi likes and has been linked to Tottenham in the past; he's worth keeping in mind in this quarterfinal.
