Spurs ‘interested’ in PSV winger Johan Bakayoko
Tottenham have been eyeing up a number of potential signings to bolster their squad in January, many of whom could fit into the attacking role including Juventus’ Samuel Iling-Junior and Barcelona’s Raphinha. Now, it seems Spurs are looking to the Eredivisie, where they’re reportedly showing interest in PSV’s Johan Bakayoko.
Tottenham are without Manor Solomon, Ivan Perisic, and Richarlison for the coming months, and any further injuries to the front line would be catastrophic. With Perisic’s contract expiring at the end of the season and Richarlison doubtful about his future at the club, a preemptive move for a winger could make sense.
Across 21 games for the Dutch side in the 23/24 campaign, Bakayoko has a combined three goals and 11 assists. He’s also made seven appearances for the Beligum squad this year, collecting a goal and two assists in hand.
A two-time winner of the Dutch cup with Champions League football and multiple international caps under his belt, the 20-year-old has the potential to slot into the Premier League quite nicely. His market value stands at around €25.00m according to Transfermarkt, which would be a much smaller fee compared to the other options being considered.
