Spurs midfielder Giovani Lo Celso hasn’t had a memorable career at Tottenham, and it seems that the club is now eager to send him on his way.

Football Insider have recently received information indicating that Lo Celso is on the chopping block, with offers in the ballpark of £15-20m set to be the asking price.

The Argentinian international joined the club on loan in 2019, making the move permanent in 2020. Since then, he’s notched just eight goals and six assists in 87 games for Spurs.

Since Ange’s arrival, it’s been a goal of Tottenham’s to offload the players of eras past who simply were never able to find form in Lilywhite.

Others are leaving for the reason that they just don’t fit into the quickness and control on the ball which Ange’s tactics require. Prime examples include Davinson Sanchez who was sold off to Galatasaray over the summer, and Eric Dier who’s been linked with a move to Roma among other clubs.

Just as Spurs have considered replacement options for these two defenders, they will need to look to strengthen their midfield depth in the offing.

Summer signing James Maddison has made an incredible impact at Tottenham this season, and is even being deemed the current best player in the league.

If the Englishman were to pick up a knock, however, it would likely be devastating to the team’s current form at top of the table.

Many pundits assert that Spurs’ unbeaten streak, while impressive, will not be maintainable with the current lack of quality on the bench. With Ange sticking to, more or less, the same starting XI all season, this assumption seems accurate.

To prepare for contingencies and give the squad even a chance at maintaining their run towards stardom, new Technical Director Johan Lange will have to bring in fresh legs in January.
