Sky Sports reports that Bayern Munich and Borussia Dortmund are interested in taking Eric Dier off Tottenham’s hands.

The out-of-favour centre-back initially planned on staying in north London to fight for his place in Ange’s team. However, Dier has dropped down Ange’s pecking order like a lead balloon, with Ben Davies and Davinson Sanchez both preferred.

It feels like Harry Kane may be offering his influence and expertise where Dier is concerned.

Dier has a year left in his contract but must depart for pastures anew to revitalize his career. He will get little, if any, playing time at Spurs under Ange.

Dier doesn’t suit Ange’s attacking 4-3-3 system, which demands a high defensive line. Dier doesn’t have the pace or aggressiveness to excel in such a high-risk, high-reward system. Bayern Munich might suit Dier, who will play inferior opponents in a team that possesses the ball an inordinate amoung.

The sad side of his Tottenham demise has seen him take an undue amount of flack on social media. Haters have come out of the woodwork. While Dier understands his current role at the club, the social media lambasting certainly hasn’t helped.

We’re still awaiting more details about the prospective move, including financials.

I am curious to know how Bayern Munich and Tottenham will come to an accord with only a few days left in the transfer window, particularly considering how poorly their Harry Kane negotiations transpired.

Dortmund may swoop in and make the deal happen. Either way, Tottenham will be keen to see Dier on his way. Hopefully, the club can garner a decent fee, but anything over €15 million would be a massive win.
