Source says Tottenham keen on Randal Kolo Muani as top Kane replacement
By Gary Pearson
According to relatively unknown source Sacha Tavolieri, Tottenham is keen on Randal Kolo Muani as its primary candidate if Harry Kane leaves this summer.
By now, we all know the drama enveloping Kane. Will he go or will he stay? It seems nobody knows. At this stage, the toss of a coin is about as reliable as some media hypotheses.
While we wait in purgatory to see if Kane departs for a new chapter, Tavolieri (whoever he is) says Tottenham has Eintracht Frankfurt’s Kolo Muani in its crosshairs. Then again, several names have popped up in the “who replaces Kane” frenzy.
Kolo Muani is under contract at Eintracht Frankfurt until 2027 and is worth, according to Transfermarkt, €80 million. Transfermarkt usually undervalues players, so a higher fee would probably be more likely required to sign the French international.
Last season, the 24-year-old scored 23 goals and added 17 helpers in 46 matches in all competitions. That goal tally included 15 goals in 32 Bundesliga matches, in which he also added 14 assists.
Manchester United is also highly interested in Kolo Muani, who has one goal in 9 appearances for the senior French national team.
While the source isn’t well known, Kolo Muani would make sense for Tottenham. Tavolieri even went as far as to say the French striker is interested in a move to Tottenham. However, this rumour is in its embryonic stage.
It depends on many things to manifest into more, including Kane leaving and Tottenham out-bidding Manchester United. Rasmus Hojlund is United’s top forward target, but Ten Hag is finding out that signing him is easier said than done.
