According to the Daily Mail’s Sami Mokbel, Tottenham and Atletico Madrid have commenced discussions regarding Pierre Hojbjerg’s future.

While the Daily Mail doesn’t unerringly publish the Gospel truth, the latest tidbit of news from Mokbel makes sense.

However, the conversation, if it has started, is of a superficial nature, as, according to Fabrizio Romano on Amp, who does speak the Gospel truth, Atletico has yet to bid for Tottenham’s dogged Dane.

Like Harry Kane, Pierre Hojbjerg is open to the possibility of a Tottenham exodus.

And the club is willing to sell him if a fair bid comes forth. There’s some debate about whether Hojbjerg is worth €30 or €40 million and what price Tottenham will pull the trigger and offload the 27-year-old.

This particular transfer rumour strikes an emotional chord with supporters, as Hojbjerg consistently puts forth a full-blooded, in-the-trenches effort.

It’s easy to see why Diego Simeone is drooling over the thought of signing Hojbjerg. They are, for all intents in purposes, mirroring characters.

Both take no prisoners, are dedicated to the cause, and are all business, at least on the pitch.

We’ll have to wait to see whether a bid is forthcoming. If it does arrive, how much is Atletico willing to offer?

For now, Hojbjerg is still a Tottenham Hotspur player.

If his heart is still in north London, he has every chance of winning over Ange. If, however, his heart is on its first-class way to sunny Spain, Hojbjerg is already as good as gone.
