The news supporters have been waiting and hoping for is about to come to fruition, as Tottenham and Leicester have, according to Fabrizio Romano, agreed terms regarding James Maddison.

And it looks as though Tottenham somehow convinced Leicester to take their £40 million bid. We’re still unsure of what the add-ons consist of, but they must be substantial enough for the Foxes to lower their original asking price by about £20 million.

Regardless, this is epic news for Tottenham and its supporters. Maddison is one of Tottenham’s primary targets and his presence will immediately and drastically improve the side’s starting 11.

Pending a medical, Maddison will be a Tottenham player for the upcoming season. In other breaking news, Harry Winks will go the other way, costing Leicester £10 million.

It’s tantamount to Tottenham paying just £30 million for Maddison, an exceptional bit of business for the club’s hierarchy.

The contract details are yet to be released, but Maddison is, according to Sportrac, currently making about £110,000 weekly.

According to the Daily Mail’s Sam Mokbel, Spurs are set to pay the Englishman £170,000 weekly. That amount makes sense. It would make him the fifth-highest earner at the club, behind Harry Kane, Tanguy Ndombele (yes, I did say Ndombele, who earns the same as Kane, an outrageously swollen £200,000 weekly), Son Heung-min (£192.000), and Ivan Perisic (£178,000).

That amount will almost assuredly increase. But the 26-year-old is worth every penny, as he has all of the qualities Ange desires in a No. 8.

The breaking news will also impact the Harry Kane situation, as Spurs’ talisman is a massive proponent of Maddison’s.

The arrival of his England teammate will make staying at Tottenham a more appealing option.

Next. Tottenham not interested in selling Kane. dark

Here we go soon! Drop the soon and supporters can start celebrating, as this deal will represent Spurs’ best in recent memory.
