Tottenham officially announced the departures of Arnaut Danjuma and Clement Lenglet, with both players’ loan spells coming to an end.

Danjuma, who scored two goals in 12 appearances, was always expected to leave Hotspur Way. He arrived in January from Villarreal but needed more match time to influence proceedings how he intended.

The 26-year-old scored one goal in nine Premier League appearances, made one nine-minute Champions League cameo appearance, and made two short appearances off the bench in the FA Cup.

Many Tottenham supporters had trouble getting to grips with his loan spell, as Danjuma was at the bottom of the pecking order and never got a fair shake.

Lenglet, who arrived on loan from Barcelona at the start of the 2022-23 season, made 35 appearances and was more of a mainstay in the first 11.

The Lenglet departure comes as more of a surprise, as several reports suggested that Tottenham was working with Barcelona to reach terms on making the deal permanent.

Obviously not.

Lenglet probably isn’t seen by Ange Postecoglou as someone who can seamlessly step into his 4-3-3 formation. Lenglet doesn’t have the skill set, particularly on the ball, to be considered one of Postecoglou’s two center backs.

And while Lenglet is versatile and can play as a fullback, Postecoglou wants more attack-minded individuals patrolling the inverted fullback role.

dark. Next. Contradicting reports about Kulusevski don't add up

The Frenchman will return to Barcelona for now. However, the Catalan club may look for a way to cash in on the 27-year-old. Lenglet made 26 Premier League appearances and played in seven of Spurs’ eight Champions League contests.
