Ange Postecoglou has spoken about being named Tottenham Hotspur head coach, a moment supporters have been waiting for since he was appointed a few days ago.

The Australian spoke about how proud he is to be named manager of Spurs. He also mentioned how keen he is to get started, particularly with reference to ensuring the team plays a brand of football supporters can be proud of.

As mentioned millions of times by most football news outlets, not only in England but worldwide, he’ll be focusing on instilling his players with the values and philosophy he’s had about football since he began managing almost 30 years ago.

The new manager will need the full-fledged, unwavering support from Tottenham’s supporters. For his revolution to work, he’ll also need time and the support of the higher ups, including Daniel Levy and Scott Munn.

While nothing is guaranteed in football, especially at Spurs, Postecoglou is the right appointment.

However, there are countless moving parts, including a roster chockfull of uncertainty. At least seven, maybe more, players are expected to move on, while a few new players will be brought in.

Hopefully Spurs win the James Maddison sweepstakes, as he would immediately strengthen our creativity in midfield.

He’s also somebody Postecoglou regards highly. Newcastle are the current frontrunners to land Maddison, but Spurs are definitely in the running.

Postecoglou, who officially starts his role on July 1, will have about six weeks of pre-season training before the campaign kicks off on August 12.
