Ange Postecoglou is the lead candidate in Tottenham’s search for a new manager, and while he isn’t a household name, he would bring to Hotspur Way several glowing traits.
Like every name linked to the Tottenham manager job, some reports suggest Postecoglou is on the verge of joining, while others say there’s almost no chance the 57-year-old will take the helm.
But at least another conversation is on the horizon, potentially encouraging news for Tottenham.
Of course, how encouraging you find it depends on what you think of Postecoglou, who has some obvious shortcomings, including his lack of experience at an elite level.
And let’s not get too ahead of ourselves, as we know how quickly negotiations between the two parties can go wayward. Exhibit A of a long list of case studies is the recent Arne Slot debacle.
Whichever side of the Postecoglou fence you’re situated on, the Greek-born manager is a strong candidate, particularly when you consider who else is currently available or willing to step into what awaits at Spurs.
