Tottenham Hotspur talisman smashes another record
Only one thing missing for the Englishman
Harry Kane is a terrific center forward and has been for several years now. He has had a remarkable career coming through the Tottenham academy ranks.
His critics can only say that he is missing a piece of silverware, and rightfully so.
Kane deserves some silverware to cap off the brilliant career he’s had thus far. However, players like Harry Kane, Heung-min Son, and Hugo Lloris are dismissed in conversations or seen as not good enough because they have not won silverware is baffling.
Kane’s individual brilliance cannot be discounted because he has not won a trophy.
For example, if he did switch to Manchester City in 2021 and won the League Cup, does he immediately become an all-time great because of that? Would the fans there support him as the Spurs fans do?
The argument that a player who receives a winner’s medal by doing practically nothing is better than Kane is a ridiculous take.
I’m not saying that Kane does not need silverware in his career. I think he does, but to say he is not a world-class player because of that is off the mark.
Hopefully, Tottenham can get over the line at least once with Harry Kane leading the way before he hangs up his boots.
