Tottenham Defensive Projections

With Cristian Romero unavailable and Davinson Sanchez likely still on the outs with Conte, the defense likely picks itself at this point.

Left-back – Ben Davies

Ben Davies has been playing okay the last few games, although he sometimes requires a lot of help on the left side. Since his goal a month ago, Davies has not had much success going forward, but maybe this game is his chance.

Center-back – Clement Lenglet

Seemingly finding a place in the defensive rotation for Tottenham, Clement Lenglet has been solid as the center-back in the three. Lenglet seems to have good positional awareness and, although not the quickest, has speed and size. Now can he show a range of passing to compliment Dier beside him?

Right-back – Eric Dier

After his big mistake against Liverpool, Conte almost has to start Eric Dier again. Dier was instrumental in Spurs keeping the ball most of the second half as he diagonal balls most of the afternoon over to Sessegnon. Dier provides a bit more pop in the attack on the right, and Spurs need it now.

Goalkeeper – Fraser Forster

There is not a lot of rotation going on for Tottenham; however, the one place where some can occur is in the goal. Fraser Forster should make his Tottenham Hotspur debut, replacing Hugo Lloris, making Kane the captain.
