Tottenham projected midfield

Spurs are in a 3-4-3, and we see a bit of rotation, with Pierre Hojbjerg being saved for Marseille.

Left wing-back – Ryan Sessegnon

It looked like Ryan Sessegnon would come on for Tottenham against Sporting, but he put back on a bib and then never approached the fourth official again. Instead, Ivan Perisic was involved until the bitter end for Tottenham, and now Sessegnon gets his turn as a little rotation, and an eye on France continues.

Center midfield – Rodrigo Bentancur

After a quiet first half against Sporting, Rodrigo Bentancur came on and played magnificent in the final 45 minutes midweek. Bentancur out-lept everyone to score the game-tying goal and then continued to motor all over the attacking half to provide a passing outlet.

Center midfield – Yves Bissouma

Pierre Hojbjerg could very well start, but given the importance the final Champions League group stage match has taken on and the lingering availability issues of Hojbjerg, starting Bissouma is simply the right call. Tottenham needs fresh players now and later, and playing Bissouma now accomplishes that for Spurs.

Right wing-back – Matt Doherty

Typically we go with Emerson Royal here, but given Doherty was the first player off midweek, it seems very plausible that the Irishman gets the call against Bournemouth. Doherty has not been lightyears better than Royal offensively, which means he has an hour to show what he can do.
