How Tottenham Hotspur will line-up against Marseille in UCL

How Spurs’ defense will line up versus Marseille
Sticking with the theme of one change per line, Conte rotates a bit in the back, with Ben Davies reclaiming his starting role for the midweek match-up.
Left-back – Ben Davies
Having essentially missed the entire pre-season with injury, for Ben Davies to come in and play nearly every minute of the first five matches was incredible. Davies deserved his break against Fulham, and loanee Clement Lenglet played well in Davies’ place. However, for now, Davies is the clear starter and will be back in the line-up for the Champions League.
Center-back – Eric Dier
Another player who plays almost every minute of every game, Eric Dier, will again be in the heart of the Tottenham defense. Much of how Tottenham games go depends on whether Dier spends more time defending or more time passing. Spurs will be hoping it is time passing against Marseille.
Right-back – Cristian Romero
The Argentine defender is coming off an injury and tired down the stretch against Fulham. With a big run of games ahead, including Manchester City on Saturday, there is every chance Conte opts for Davinson Sanchez on Wednesday, but we think he will still stick with Cristian Romero. Given the status of the match and the need to get Romero’s fitness up, it makes sense to play him.
Goalkeeper – Hugo Lloris
Hugo Lloris has made some questionable decisions with his feet over the last few matches, but there has been no doubting his hands. Although he had no chance on the goal Aleksandar Mitrovic scored, he did well to paw away a couple of other Mitrovic efforts and preserve the win. The unquestioned starter, Lloris, will want a strong start to the campaign.
