Looking at Tottenham’s Chances of Signing Newcastle Star

Tottenham are thought to be considering a bid for Newcastle star Allan Saint-Maximin, whose contract runs through the 2026 season.
Fabio Paratici is reportedly committed to going in for the Frenchman, who, according to Transfermarkt.com, is worth just under £30 million. Though to pry him away from Newcastle, the fee will most likely exceed his estimated worth by a somewhat substantial amount.
Saint-Maximin is Newcastle’s most skillful and creative asset and the club, particularly Eddie Howe, will not want to see him depart. Of course a lot depends on how badly Paratici and Spurs want the 24-year-old, who is just entering the prime of his career.
While Saint-Maximum appreciates the opportunity provided by Newcastle, he is keen on moving to a team that can offer Champions League football.
He is an elite talent on the ball and causes nightmares for even the top back lines. He represents an altogether different type of player than anyone on Spurs’ roster.
Saint-Maximum runs at people like Lucas Moura and can beat people with agility and power of Son Heung-min or Dejan Kulusevski. He prefers to play on the left in more of an attacking left midfielder role, but can also play from the right, even centrally if required.
He scored five goals and added five assists in 35 appearances last season, but has the ability in the right circumstances to produced way more.
He was out for over a month with a calf injury and another three weeks with a groin problem during the 2020-21 season.
The season previous Saint-Maximum missed two separate month-long spells with a hamstring injury. There’s enough evidence to suggest the Frenchman is susceptible to recurring muscle injuries, something Spurs’ top brass must be taking into consideration before deciding whether to submit their first bid.

We’ll have to wait and see how this rumour develops. For now, though, add Saint-Maximum to the list of Tottenham possibilities.
