Leading the Premier League in assists per 90 minutes, Tottenham’s Dejan Kulusevski has taken the top flight by storm since arriving from Juventus in January.

Nobody has more assists per minute played than Tottenham’s Swede, who has notched 0.61 helpers per match in 13 Premier League starts. He has eight assists, level for the seventh most in the top flight.

The 22-year-old Swede has as many assists as Spurs’ talisman Harry Kane and is just five behind league leader Mo Salah, who has made 30 top-flight starts, 17 more than Kulusevski.

It’s a staggeringly efficient return, particularly for a man adapting to a new country, league, team, style of play, coach and home. The lion’s share of players who make the abrupt switch from another country midway through the season struggle to find their rhythm in a wildly new environment.

Not Kulusevski, who is already enjoying one of the most fruitful patches of his young career, only three months after arriving in the capital.

He also has three goals to go along with the eight helpers, one of which came away to Manchester City in his first Premier League start. Kulu is also among the elite players in terms of goals and assists per 90 minutes. He has .84 goals and assists per 90, the sixth-best record in the top flight.

Son Heung-min is fourth on that list with .89 goals and assister per 90 minutes.

It’s not just Kulu’s stats the speak volumes. His all-round commitment and bullish enterprise perfectly complement Kane and Sonny.

He has admirable confidence and isn’t afraid to play on the front foot. He’s also tenacious and helps tracking back, precisely what Conte was looking for when he and Fabio Paratici signed the former Juventus man.

Some people will suggest his early success in the Premier League is solely down to playing beside Kane and Sonny. While there is no doubt Sonny and Kane invariably help any player in their presence, Kulusevski has returned the favour, improving both superstar’s form since his arrival.

And he’s only just turned 22 years old. Tottenham landed a superstar in the making where Kulu is concerned. His sensational stats are just one of numerous indicators of what the young Swede is capable of.
