Tottenham Hotspur projected XI for north London Derby vs Arsenal

Tottenham Defence
Ben Davies (LB) – Aside from a nearly fatal pass across the middle of the defence, Ben Davies was solid against Liverpool. The defender ran with Mo Salah all day and worked hard to prevent any clear-cut chances for the Egyptian. Davies pushing forward to help Sessegnon will be necessary for Spurs to keep Arsenal on the back foot.
Eric Dier (CB) – Accounting for several vital blocks and clearances, Eric Dier was his usual ball-hawking self against Liverpool. Dier will likely have more to do against Arsenal, with Eddie Nketiah running all over the Gunner’s attack. Working smart under pressure will be critical against a good Arsenal press; Dier must be ready.
Cristian Romero (RB) – The big Argentine defender had his moments against Liverpool but was not quite as dominant as he was versus Leicester. With another strong attacker on the left in Gabriel Martinelli, Romero will be essential in supporting Royal and working to prevent Martinelli from getting clear chances. If Romero can pocket Martinelli and allow Royal to push forward, it is advantageous for Spurs.
Hugo Lloris (GK) – After conceding only two goals in four games in April, Lloris has already conceded two in two games in May. The goal by Luiz Diaz was hardly Lloris’ fault after being wrong-footed on a deflection. Hugo will need to make two or three big saves Thursday and needs to be good with his distribution, which can help spur the Tottenham attack.
