As Tottenham Hotspur fans grow weary from some of the same players making the same mistakes, is it time for youngsters like Harvey White to get a chance at Spurs?

Following the January departure of several midfield options and then injuries to both Oliver Skipp and Rodrigo Bentancur, coach Antonio Conte was left with few alternatives in the center of the park. Although Harry Winks has Conte’s trust, his inconsistent performances are one of the reasons Spurs have struggled over the last two months.

WIth neither Skipp nor Bentancur returning anytime soon, is it time for Tottenham academy product Harvey White to get a shot in Spurs midfield?

White spent last spring on loan at Portsmith but has been kept at the club this season, and with the current situation in the midfield, he seems poised to take at least a few minutes soon.

While White’s best chance for a first impression may have just passed, he and the club by with the Middlesbrough defeat, most fans likely could live with 20-year-old making mistakes than seeing a 26-year-old do the same thing again and again. The extent of how ready White is for the rigours of the Premier League is unknown but what is known is how Winks will perform.

What White would bring to the Tottenham team

White, a left-footed midfielder, can play deep or wide but is a player that likes to get forward. With seven goals and seven assists in 20 appearances for Spurs U23 team this season, White is productive, and it is likely the type of production that could translate for Tottenham at the senior level.

If White is known for anything around the club, it is his ability to strike a mean free-kick. White may be the closest thing the club has to a free-kick specialist, which is something that the team needs.

Having an alternative to Heung-min Son to take corners and not see Harry Kane bang the ball into the wall would be welcome sights for very sore eyes. While many talents and skills do not translate up the ranks in football, hitting a sweet deadball kick is the same regardless of age.

Whether or not Conte is ready to play, White is as big of a question as to whether or not White is prepared to play. Nonetheless, it is a question the coach should be asking himself as he sees the same players expecting a different result.
