Tottenham Substitute and Coach Rating

The starters took the vast majority of the minutes on the afternoon, with Spurs first replacement not coming on until Steven Bergwijn and Emerson Royal came on with less than a quarter-hour to play.

Coach Antonio Conte -8

Fans likely would like to see the team in a more progressive formation. However, Spurs were set up for success given the team they were playing. Leeds is far from City, but a similar game plan was the right recipe for success for Spurs. Conte was booked standing up for his team on the hard tackles from Leeds, which you have to love as a player.

Steven Bergwijn – 6

On late for Kulusevski, Bergwijn had only one driving run on the dribble as the game was well decided when he entered the proceedings.

Emerson Royal – 6

On for the last 12 minutes in place of Sessegnon but on the right side of the pitch; Emerson Royal probably should have scored after being in a one-on-one position with Ilian Meslier. A strong save from the keeper denied Royal.

Dane Scarlett – N/A

It was nice to see Dane Scarlett on the pitch for the last three minutes and injury time. He almost got on the end of a long ball from Harry Kane, but the ball did not bounce his way.
