Midfield

Emerson Royal 6/10

Played a strong defensive game and wasn’t too shabby going forward. As usual, Emerson coughed up possession on a few occasions, but was strong in the tackle and committed to the task at hand. Still not enough quality going forward.

Rodrigo Bentancur 5/10

Found out what playing in Burnley is like. Had to be withdrawn at halftime due to precautionary reasons, as he took a nasty fall in the first half. Decent fleeting performance, but nothing to write home about.

Pierre Hojbjerg 6/10

Was a bit too cute at times and struggles mightily when presented an opportunity to get a strike on net. The Dane worked his socks off (no surprise there) and kept things tight in midfield, but didn’t create enough going forward.

Ryan Sessegnon 6/10

Put in a fairly dogged performance and did everything he could to muster some sort of offensive threat.
