Like so many teams historically, Tottenham were done in by a Burnley set piece at Turf Moor, as Ben Mee sealed the away side’s fate with a back post header.

Tottenham didn’t perform too poorly and on the balance of play were unfortunate to leave Turf Moor with nothing to show from a fairly spirited performance.

Unlike the trip to Manchester City a few days ago, Tottenham lacked quality in front of goal, dooming them in the end. The result places further doubt on Spurs’ top four chances. It’s a case of one step forward, two steps back for Antonio Conte’s side.

The grim, rainy night in Burnley mirrored the away side’s feelings after leaving with nothing to show.
