2. Tottenham’s terrifying top three

To say Son Heung-min, Harry Kane and Dejan Kulusevski combined expertly would be the understatement of the century. The triumvirate were electric almost every time they sniffed out an opportunity.

Kulu, who scored with his second touch in his first start, looked strong, dynamic and skilled enough to provide a clinical final touch. Sonny was quintessential Sonny, especially against City, who he thrives against.

Sonny was magisterial, composed, intelligent, lighting quick and lethal with the ball, providing two wonderful setups for both his colleagues that were begging to be finished off, which Kane and Kulu obliged.

And then there’s Kane, who made the loudest, most pronounced statement against the side that tried to buy him prior to the start of the season. Kane proved why he’s one of the world’s best strikers. Kane scored his first two goals against City in the Premier League. And what a perfect time to do it. England’s captain could have scored a hat trick and also led by example in every facet.

What made the trio’s contribution most impressive was their clinical nature. Spurs, who had just six touches in City’s box, scored three goals but could have easily bagged a few more. Like Kane, Kulu also made a statement of his own, staking his claim on a starting role. Let’s see if Lucas Moura has something to say about that.
