Looking to earn the team’s second win over Manchester City on the season, Antonio Conte came with a plan, which Tottenham executed to near perfection.

Tottenham Hotspur came in with a very defensive-minded game plan. Spurs were going to be compact and look to hit City hard on the counter-attack. Conte had said in his pre-match presser his team needed to be almost perfect with the ball to win, and on the day, his team was led, of course, by Harry Kane.

Tottenham Forward Rating

Harry Kane – 10

Harry Kane had a big load to carry on the day for Spurs as the loan striker and target for much of the match. Kane hit the ground running, showing his playmaking skills, playing Son in on Spurs opener. It was like old times in the second half, with Kane starting and finishing the move to give Spurs their second. Denied a second by the left foot of Ederson, Kane was incredible in his limited opportunities. He scored Spurs third but had it called back for an offside in the build-up. It seemed like Kane injured his back late in the contest, But Kane got some spray and then indeed scored his second and Spurs third to take all three points.
