Tottenham Hotspur endured another woeful home encounter and lost more ground on the top four in a 2-0 loss to Wolves.

It’s hard to put a positive spin on what we just witnessed. Not good enough in so many different respects. Spurs were dismal in the first half and couldn’t turn it around in the second half either.

Here are the player ratings from a shockingly bad loss at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.

Defence

Hugo Lloris 3/10

Sorry Hugo, but that was a dismal outing. The Frenchman endured two calamitous moments, one of which even worse than the other. On the first goal Lloris had to do better than muster a weak punch right back into danger, which Raúl Jiménez was delighted to receive and knock home with a confident volley. Lloris then played a woeful pass to Ben Davies, which eventually led to Wolves second. He made a couple of excellent saves. Not enough to offset those two forgettable moments.

Ben Davies 4/10

Unfortunately the Welshman endured a second subpar match in succession. Davies wasn’t helped by his keeper on Wolves’ second, but should have done much more with an attempted clearance. Why he decided to try and play it centrally, back into danger, I’ll never know. It was either a bad decision or poor execution, and I’m not sure which is worse.

Davinson Sanchez 3/10

The Colombian has officially regressed to last season’s version of himself. So erratic, so unconfident and perpetually annoyed at Harry Winks. Sanchez is unsure in possession, concedes possession needlessly, is too easily pulled out of possession and panics all too often. Not exactly the attributes you need from one of your centre backs.

Cristian Romero 6/10

Again the best of Tottenham’s rearguard, Cristian Romero looked like a player that would be coming into his own if it weren’t for playing beside two struggling colleagues. Nearly scored with a header, too.
