Harry Kane is returning to the form that makes opposing defenders shudder in their boots, an immensely promising sign for Tottenham Hotspur.

Kane bagged an impressive brace against Brighton, ensuring his side advances to the fifth round of the FA Cup. The confident display saw Kane dominate in basically every facet of the match. And it was yet another distinct sign that Kane is on the cusp of returning to the best version of himself.

Here’s three signs the Kane of pre-Manchester City rumours is back.

3.  Goals are starting to come thick and fast

Intense scrutiny accompanies Kane when he doesn’t score for a sustained period. He is used to scoring at an astonishing 0.65-goals-per-match rate in the Premier League. So when the imperious, prolific striker scores just one goal in the first 13 top flight matches, the inquest is sure to be fierce, scathing and widespread.

The tide started to turn upon Antonio Conte‘s arrival. While it took some time for the goals to come, there was discernible signs a resurgence was in the making. For a player of Kane’s otherworldly pedigree, the goals were sure to follow.

He has scored four goals in six Premier League matches since bagging the opener against Liverpool on Dec. 19.

Take his — and Spurs struggles — against Chelsea out of the equation and Kane has netted seven in as many matches. His brace against Brighton was his first multi-goal performance since scoring a hat trick off the bench against Mura in the Europa Conference League on Sept. 30.

After going on his recent goal-scoring run, Kane now has 15 goals in 33 appearances in all competitions. That’s a goal return of .45 per match. So while he’s still not producing at his all-time Premier League clip of .65 goals per match, his per-match return is increasing at a rapid rate. He  should bust through the goal-every-two-matches mark in the next month.
