Dejan Kulusevski‘s introduction in the 68th minute of yesterday’s FA Cup match against Brighton was met with rapturous applause, with supporters anticipant of what’s to come from the Swede at Tottenham.

Harry Kane had just restored the two-goal lead, offering the opportune moment to officially introduce the 21-year-old to Tottenham’s faithful. The two-goal cushion also allowed Kulu to play loose, comparatively nerve-free.

No player, unless fitted with robot-like nerves of steel, will be completely free of anxiousness upon being introduced to almost 55,000 supporters. So it was expected when a few nerves came to the fore in the opening minutes of his Spurs’ tenure, with a few of his passes missing the mark, played behind their intended target.

But as he warmed into proceedings, there were a few strong indicators, along with trends from his days in Italy, as to why he will fit in nicely to Antonio Conte‘s plans.
